Fruit Brandy

What's better than ending your day with a nice glass of homemade Fruit Brandy?
It's the perfect choice for relaxed evenings with friends and family.

Ingredients

4 cupsSugar
2 cupsWater
4 poundsApples, sliced
1 literBrandy
3Whole cloves
1cinnamon stick (3 inches)
Additional whole cloves and cinnamon sticks

 

Directions

Step 1

Combine the sugar and water in a large saucepan and bring all of it to a boil; cook and stir the mixture until the sugar is dissolved. Remove the mixture from the heat.

Step 2

Place the apples in a large glass or plastic container; add the sugar mixture, brandy, cloves and cinnamon stick. Cover the mixture and let it stand at room temperature for at least two weeks, stirring it once a week.

Step 3

Strain the brandy mixture and discard the apples and spices. Pour the liquid into several glass bottles. Place an additional three cloves and one cinnamon stick in each bottle.
